Brand new, ridiculously pretty and all worth creating a trip around. From Mexico to the Middle East these are 10 of the hottest new hotel openings for 2022.

The Fasano Trancoso (bahia, Brazil)

Brazil’s fashionable Fasano hotel group is about to open their ninth outpost in the chic beach town of Trancoso, in the southern part of Bahia. Located at Itapororoca Beach (about 4km south of the town’s center) the hotel will boast 40 gorgeous bungalows dotted on a generous 300 hectares plot of land. Two pools (one of them 500 meters long) with superb views on the Atlantic will be the absolute plum of the hotel. More on Trancoso here.


The Jeddah EDITION (Saudi Arabia)

With a total of seven new hotels slated to open in 2022 EDITION hotels are on a roll. One of their planned openings is the Jeddah EDITION in Saudia Arabia. The Middle Eastern destination has been gaining interest (here to confirm are upscale hotel brands as Habitas, NOBU and St. Regis - all opened or about to open their doors in Saudi Arabia) over the past years and might just be one of the it-destinations for 2022. Expected to open somewhere in 2022 the Jeddah EDITION will bring 63 guestrooms, a signature restaurant and both indoor and outdoor pools to the Jeddah Corniche district.


The Comodo (Bad Gastein, Austria)

Teasing on social media for over a year now, The Comodo finally announced their planned opening date will be somewhere winter 2022/202. Perched on the foothills above the serene wellness-town of Bad Gastein, The Comodo will bring the region its much needed dose of design. Expect sleek guest rooms with nods to mid-century modern design (think vintage furniture, hues of dark green and cognac and chubby low-slung sofa’s), a restaurant with focus on sustainable food and a spa with sweeping mountain views.


Stanly ranch (napa valley, United States)

Located an hour north of San Francisco in the heart of California’s wine region Stanly Ranch is opening as a collection of modern ranch residences. All 135 cottages and suites come with open plan layouts, warm design, outdoor terraces and fire pits. Additionally Stanly Ranch will boast five dining venues and a wine produce and immersive activities like vineyard tours and garden-to-glass cocktail workshops.


Cali Mykonos (Greece)

Boasting a 110m long infinity pool, a sushi bar, a spa and 40 stylish pared-back villa’s with private pools and ocean views, Cali Mykonos might just be Greece’s biggest newcomer for 2022. The boutique resort sits just north of Kalafati Beach perched between mountains and the sea in a private bay - protected from the Myconian winds.


Four Seasons Tamarindo (Jalisco, Mexico)

Nestled on Mexico’s wild Pacific Coast brand new Four Seasons Tamarindo is one of Mexico’s most anticipated hotel openings for 2022. Perched on a private peninsula nearly 200 meters above sea level and with views on the Pacific ocean out front and the verdant rainforest out back the location is truly epic. Four Seasons Tamarindo will come with 157 guest rooms (of which 63 are suites), three infinity pools, a spa and a golf course - much of it with sweeping views on the Pacific. Activities at the resort are very much nature-focused and include morning hikes with resident biologists or stargazing with the staff astronomers.


La Palma (Capri, Italy)

German-based hotel management company Oetker Collection (known for their iconic Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc in the South of France) is landing on the glamorous island of Capri next summer. Transforming the first ever hotel on the island (build in 1822) into a majestic little hideaway. The original structure still stands but the number of rooms is being decreased from 80 to 50 (including 18 suites). Additionally the hotel will boast a brand new, 50’s looking pool deck, several high end boutiques and a restaurant helmed by Gennaro Esposito. Revamped La Palma is expected to open in April 2022.


Nobu Marrakech (Morocco)

Nobu will make its African debut with an opening in Marrakech next year. The group (founded by Robert de Niro, celebrity chef Nobu Matsuhisa and US film producer Meir Teper) will land in the cosmopolitan Hivernage district in what currently is the Pearl Marrakech hotel. Following the transformation Nobu Marrakech will become a lifestyle destination on its own with 71 guest rooms and suites, several dining venues, a rooftop area, indoor and outdoor pools and a massive spa and gym. Opening fall 2022.


Janu Montenegro (Montenegro)

Exclusive luxury hotel brand Aman is launching a more affordable sister called Janu. With three hotels debuting in 2022 in Montenegro, Tokyo and Al Ula (Saudia Arabia) the Janu brand promises to be all about ‘social wellness’, purposeful experiences and human connections. First to open is Janu Montenegro, which will boast both hotel rooms as residences - inviting guests to experience the Janu ethos a bit longer. The location is unbeatable: right on the Bay of Kotor and close to sister property Aman Sveti Stefan. Expect many multi-purpose social areas, expansive wellness activities and forward thinking culinary programs featuring trends like fermentation and low-temperature cooking. Janu Montenegro is expected have around 150 guest rooms. Opening dates and rates are still unknown - and even though Janu will be more affordable than big sister Aman, room rates will probably not go below EUR 900 per nights.
