With five new openings in 2018 alone and another three houses a year planned for the coming years (including Mumbai and Tokyo), the British Soho House is not sitting still. Redchurch Townhouse opened late 2018 and goes back to where it all started: London.

As soon as you enter the living room-like lobby of Redchurch Townhouse on Whitby Street, you immediately know that you have ended up in a Soho House. It may not have the bustle of Shoreditch House a little further on, but the vintage seating area with thick velvet sofa gives away that you are indeed sitting at a Soho-scion; a cozy and discreet townhouse that is. After two previous townhouses in London’s Soho neighborhood, it is now the turn of ever-cool Shoreditch where Redchurch Townhouse sits in streets decorated with graffiti and with the upscale shops of Le Labo and J.Crew within reach.

The townhouse has 37 rooms. All spread over four floors in both the new Redchurch Townhouse and the adjacent (former) Club Row hotel, also part of Soho House. As in more of its houses the rooms range from ‘tiny’ to ‘large’. All are decorated with that characteristic vintage Soho House Design and comprise large windows, warm oak wood floors and a retro chandeliers. The bathrooms catch the eye with their glazed tiles and brass accents and come with Cowshed Spa bath products. As icing on the cake, the ‘large’ rooms also include a free-standing bath and pink velvet sofa - both with views on Shoreditch. Both in the rooms as well as throughout the hotel you’ll find pieces of art by 40 artists under 40 - all from East London.

Another reason why Londoners can be excited about the arrival of Redchurch Townhouse is because it brings its restaurant-hit Cecconi’s to this part of town. Even though the menu at the Redchurch outpost is a bit more succinct than at other locations, we’re happy to see the lobster spaghetti made it to the list.
