Little Beach House Barcelona

Little Beach House Barcelona.jpg

Tucked away in the sleepy coastal town of Garraf this Soho House outpost is all we’d expect their interpretation of a beach house to be. Dressed in vintage with interiors that give us Miami Beach-vibes and cosy guest rooms overlooking the Med, this low-key hideaway is the ultimate out-of-town escape from Barcelona. A peek inside Little Beach House Barcelona.

location

Once a run-down motel, now a seventeen bedroom hotel with 1950s coastal glamour all over. Little Beach House Barcelona is located on a short 30 minutes drive from Barcelona in the tiny town of Garraf. A former fishing village with no other hotels around and only a handful of restaurants in town. During daytime you’ll share the beach with locals, surfers and day trippers from Sitges or Barcelona and come night time, the town dies out and you’ll feel like a world away from the buzzy Catalan capital city. A daily shuttle service connects Little Beach House to Soho House Barcelona and otherwise a taxi shouldn’t cost more than EUR 30 one way.

rooms

The beach house breathes mid-century modern: from the green and white stucco facade (matching the color scheme of the casetes lining Garraf beach) and its vintage, locally sourced furniture sitting on minty green terrazzo floor tiles to tassel beach umbrellas and striped sun loungers out front. Same goes for the seventeen guest rooms - dressed by Soho House’s in-house designers to capture the true 1950s coastal spirit. All rooms are spread over two floors and come with street or sea views. Since the hotel’s original structure was left untouched, the rooms (with the exception of the two story beach studio with the amazing outdoor stand alone bathtub) are on the smaller side. However, clever layouts, tasteful design and balconies in most of the rooms make up for the lack of space.

food and drinks

The gorgeous sea facing House Kitchen has a short but sweet menu with all that we need on a Spanish beach break. From a decent selection of seafood and tapas (try the vinegar anchovies) to wood oven pizza’s and a paella corner. All with magnificent views on the Mediterranean sea. The upstairs roof terrace is the perfect spot for lazy afternoon sundowners - and yes, the classic Tommy’s Margarita made it to the menu.
