Alemagou - Mykonos

Alemagou Mykonos.jpg

When we’re talking Greek islands that need no introduction, Mykonos would probably lead the list. Whether it’s for its notorious nightlife, stylish beach bars or top-notch hotels: this little Cycladic island enchants. An address here not to be missed is Alemagou, an all-day beach club and restaurant hidden on the foothills of Ftelia Beach.

We sometimes run into places that we instantly fall for. Alemagou is one of them. It’s the kind of place that excels in simplicity and authenticity. It doesn’t have the attitude of Nammos nor the large set-up as Scorpios, but it does come with the same high quality Greek food, an equally good location (on a secluded bay at the end of kitesurf hotspot Ftelia Beach) and during Mykonos long summer days Alemagou throws in the best house DJ’s of the Mediterranean, making it the type of address you roll into for lunch and drive off from after dinner. Still in swim shorts and sandals. The restaurant itself is inspired by Greek tavern, but then with a little extra bohemia - completed with polished concrete, light oak woods, jute, worn rugs and huge cactuses. The menu is surprisingly uncomplicated with Greek / Mediterranean classics with a twist, fresh coffees and a good selection of wines and cocktails.
