Benk + Bo, London

In the category addresses which we heart: Benk + Bo. A bakery, coffee shop, yoga studio, art gallery, event location and members-only workplace all under one roof, packed in a raw building from the 60's. Where? In ever creative Spitalfields, London.

Benk + Bo (Norwegian for ‘workbench’ + ‘place to live’) is exactly what its Norwegian / English founders Mariell and Anthony designed it to be: a cosy place to work and to just hang around. Its three floors that can be used multifunctionally make it a hotspot for creative Londoners, freelancers armed with MacBooks and tourists with a soft spot for design addresses. The heart of Benk + Bo is the bakery and coffee bar on the ground floor. The menu is fully vegetarian and has a handful of vegan breakfast and lunch options as well as coffees from London's Dark Arts Coffee. Find a spot in de adjacent lounge, which could just be a tastefully decorated Scandinavian / vintage living room - a perfect place to eat, work or just socialize. One floor up you’ll find a yoga studio and a few meeting rooms while the basement holds a handsome space (main photo) where workshops and events are organized. The studio and workspaces are members-only, the workshops and events are open to everyone and range from masterclasses in sustainable fashion and charity dinners to intimate concerts of emerging London's talent.
